Backyard Birds – Part 16

In order to make the trompe-l'œil window, I used a straight edge and an X-Acto knife to cut up outdoor scene. Then I attached strips of veneer to the edges to create the window grill.

I used three types of veneer to make the window grill. The main veneer is made of mahogany, the highlights are cherry, and the shadows are a mystery veneer from the basement that was labeled “chocolate.”
